In the time of great castles long ago, there lived a King and a Queen who had no children. Until the day a frog made their dream come true: the Queen gave birth to a little girl as beautiful as the day, named Aurora. Seven fairies were chosen as godmothers, and each of them gave a remarkable gift to their goddaughter. Just as the seventh was about to give hers, an old Fairy appeared in amongst the guests. Angry that she had not been named a godmother, she cast a spell on the princess: "In her fifteenth year, your beloved daughter will pierce her finger on a spindle." The next day, all the spindles were destroyed. Fifteen years passed... One day, when her parents are away, Aurora goes to the dungeon and discovers a woman spinning at her wheel ...
